Night 5 in Istanbul: Cooking Class

August 19, 2012

Hey lovely readers, today a post about a very special night in Istanbul! My mom and I attended a cooking class at the Culinary Institute in Istanbul, if you have the chance you have to try it, the people are so nice and the food is delicious. The little entrance is right next to the Pera Museum, we almost missed it, but inside there was a cafe at the main level, which was decorated so beautifully and we got a chance to meet the cook before classes started.

Then we went upstairs to the fifth floor were classes were held, the view of the sinking sun was stunning, and bathed the kitchen in a beautiful light.
We cooked 4 different Turkish courses, a walnut-pepper dip, a yoghurt eggplant dip, a flat kebab, and dried apricots with walnuts, everything was so delicious!

Our lovely cook Özlem Warren (hope I spelled that right:) ) held the class simultaneously in Turkish and English. Everyone had their assignment and then we would all go to the middle and Özlem showed us how to combine the ingredients and finish the dish.
Not only was Özlem really great, our whole group was made up of really lovely people and there was such a nice atmosphere. If I would still be in Istanbul I would do it again this minute!

I really hope you enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think of my outfit:)
